Fairbanks Grizzlies News Release
The Fairbanks Grizzlies are pleased to announce the signing of Running Back Kevin Morris from the University of Arizona. The 5'9" 220 RB participated in the joint try out between the Fairbanks Grizzlies and the Colorado Ice and impressed both coaching staffs. Morris, originally from Seattle Washington, played football and ran track at Mesa CC (AZ) before transferring to the U of A. At Mesa CC, Morris led the team in rushing and finished 2nd in receiving and was selected to both the football and academic All-Conference teams. At U of A Morris played RB, H-back, and slot receiver and on special teams as the Wildcats played in bowl games both seasons.
"Kevin is a very powerful athlete and I think he will transition quickly into the indoor game," stated Fairbanks Grizzlies Head Coach Robert Fuller. "There have been a lot of teams after him and it is easy to see why. He is a very high character guy and has great potential."
The Fairbanks Grizzlies are proud members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). The 2011 season kicks off in February. Season tickets for the Grizzlies 2011 season are available for purchase with a December Christmas special. Call (907) 452-5123 for details.
