SAUGET, Ill. - The Grizzlies have added utility man Parks Jordan to the roster for this upcoming season. Jordan finished his college baseball career with the University of North Carolina in 2014.

Jordan, 23, batted .259 with 90 RBI during four seasons with the Tar Heels. He collected a career high 62 hits during his final season with UNC and contributed to the 2013 Tar Heels squad that appeared in the NCAA College World Series.

"I'm so excited for the opportunity and it seems like the Grizzlies have a great atmosphere," Jordan said.

The Grizzlies will provide Jordan with his first glimpse into professional baseball. He believes that the experience of playing in the ACC will help him succeed with Gateway in 2015.

"I think that seeing top pitchers during my four years at UNC has really prepared me for this," said Jordan, who grew up in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Gateway's ninth-year manager Phil Warren said that Jordan's ability to play in the infield and outfield will allow him to compete for a utility spot on the 2015 roster.

"He's accustomed to winning and comes from an outstanding collegiate program," Warren said. "Parks knows how to play the game the right way and certainly has the makeup to succeed in this league."

The Grizzlies begin the 2015 season against the Rockford Aviators at GCS Ballpark on May 15. Single-game, season, and group tickets are on sale now. Call the Grizzlies' ticket office at (618) 337-3000.
