Utah Grizzlies News Release

EDMONTON, ALBERTA - The Grizzlies road just keeps getting longer as they dropped their 12th straight away from home in a special Tuesday morning game at the Toyota Center by a final score of 5-2 to the Houston Aeros.

The Grizzlies began the scoring once again, as they did in Edmonton on Saturday, but failed to hold on to the lead. Dana Lattery scored his first goal of the year just under three minutes into the game giving Utah a 1-0 lead. Kirby Law tied the game at the 5:09 mark on a great pass from behind the net by Pierre-Marc Bouchard. Brent Burns gave the Aeros their first lead with the power play, his eighth goal of the season. Houston led 2-1 after the first period outshooting the Grizzlies 16-5 in the period.

In the second period, Kyle Wanvig scored his fifth goal of the season giving the Aeros a 3-1 lead. Utah answered the bell with Jakub Koreis scoring his second goal of the season, both versus Houston, bringing Utah to within a goal at 3-2. However, the power play lit the lamp again for Houston as Patrick Traverse snapped his fourth goal of the season by Jean-Marc Pelletier regaining the two goal lead for his club. Utah outshot the Aeros 11-8 in the period but trailed 4-2.

The Grizzlies battled hard in the final frame outshooting the Aeros 8-7 but failed to get any offense by Josh Harding. The only goal of the period came with an empty net scored by Mark Cullen.

Pelletier finished the game with 26 saves and Harding wins his eighth of the year stopping 22 shots.

Utah will face Chicago tomorrow night at the Allstate Arena. Face-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM (mst).
