THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS...
The Rochester Americans are currently 1st overall in the AHL and North Division with 75 points and have a 34-9-3-4 record... The Americans are 9-0-0-1 in their last 10 games and are 16-4-1-3 on the road this season... Rochester is ranked 18th while on the powerplay at 14.5% and are 4th while killing penalties at 88%... Centermen Derek Roy (14G,29A) and Chris Taylor (12G,31A) lead the team with 43 points in 50 games this season... Goaltender Ryan Miller has a 28-11-2 record, six shutouts, a 2.08 GAA and a .933 save percentage... D Jeff Jillson has 5 points (2G,3A) and is a +6 in his last five games... The Maple Leafs are 0-2 against the Rochester Americans this season. This will be the Americans first visit to St. John's.
The Manitoba Moose are currently 2nd in the North Division with 69 points and have a 31-12-1-6 record... The Moose are 4-2-0-4 in their last 10 games and are 17- 3-1-3 on the road this season... Manitoba is ranked 5th while on the powerplay at 18.3% and are 6th while killing penalties at 87.3%... C Peter Sarno leads the team with 54 points (10G,44A) in 50 games this season... Goaltender Alex Auld has an 18-6-4 record, two shutouts, a 2.20 GAA and a .921 save percentage... Corner Brook native Jason King has 4 points (2G,2A) in his last five games... The Maple Leafs are 2-2 against the Manitoba Moose this season.
MAPLE LEAFS PLAYER OF THE WEEK...
St. John's has selected Kyle Wellwood as the Maple Leafs Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 6th. Wellwood tallied five points (2G,3A) and recorded 14 shots on net in four games last week. This is Kyle's fourth selection as Maple Leafs Payer of the Week. Wellwood has 55 points (22G,33A) in 50 games. Last season Wellwood had 55 points in 76 games to lead all AHL rookies in points for 2003-04.

- Maple Leafs center Kyle Wellwood will be heading to this year's AHL All-Star game in Manchester, NH. This will be Wellwood's 2nd straight appearnce at the Classic.
- The Baby Leafs went 2-2 last week. They are 3rd in the North Division and 6th overall in the AHL with 62 points and a 30-18-0- 2 record.
- St. John's will host the League leading Rochester Americans tonight and Wednesday at Mile One Stadium. The Americans have 75 points in 50 games.
-The Maple Leafs are ranked 8th in the AHL while on the powerplay and are 12th overall in penalty killing.
- The Baby Buds only need three more wins to surpass their win total of 32 from each of the past two seasons.

THIS WEEK IN LEAFS HISTORY...
February 12, 1994 - Patrik Augusta singlehandedly burns the Flames again with his third hat trick of the season against Saint John as the Leafs hammer their arch rivals 9-1 at Memorial Stadium.
February 11, 2000 - Jimmy Waite turns in one of the most sensational goaltending performances of the AHL season, making 54 saves for his fifth shutout as the Leafs blank the visiting Kentucky Thoroughblades 2-0. Waite's brilliant effort sets two Leaf franchise records, for shutouts in a single season and saves in a game.
February 10, 1993 - Ken McRae scores once and sets up three others and Mike Eastwood and Joe Sacco each notch a pair to lead the Leafs to an 8-1 romp over the Halifax Citadels. The contest turns out to be the last regular season scheduled game played at the Stadium due to the ongoing labor dispute.
