December 6, 2008 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Fairbanks Grizzlies News Release

Fairbanks, AK. 12.05.08. Ricky Bertz, General Manager of the Fairbanks Grizzlies announced the re-signing of Jay Fulk for the 2009 season. Jay played both offense and defense for the Grizzlies during their 2008 inaugural season. Jay is a former West Valley High School football player and 2003 graduate. Prior to playing for Grizzlies last year, Jay played college football at Idaho State University and Montana State University-Northern as a defensive lineman.

The 2008 season was Jay's first season of playing indoor football. Jay accumulated (17) tackles, (2) sacks, (3) forced fumbles, (2) fumble recoveries and recorded (1) defensive touchdown. The biggest challenge that Jay felt he was faced with in his first season, was not being ready for how fast paced the game truly is on a 50 yard field. Jay is confident that having one year of experience under his belt in addition to the other members of the team this year, will make a substantial difference in how the Fairbanks Grizzlies will perform on the field. Jay's personal goal for his upcoming 2nd season is for the Fairbanks Grizzlies defensive line to lead the Pacific Conference in sacks and is making himself ready to help contribute to that goal in a big way come opening day.

Jay really enjoys played indoor football because of how great and amazing the Fairbanks fans are and how much of a home field advantage they bring to the Carlson Center. Jay is especially looking forward to the upcoming 2009 season with new Head Coach Sean Ponder. Jay believes with Coach Ponder's experience and offensive expertise in indoor football combined with the rest of the coaching staff that is assembled, he is expecting the Fairbanks Grizzlies to be very successful and make the playoffs for the 2009 season.

Jay is currently attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks majoring in finance. Jay also was married September of this year to his wife, Paula Bullen.
