
Grizzlies Assign Carroll to Wizards

Bismarck, N.D. (Dec. 14, 2010) - The Dakota Wizards announced today the assignment of Memphis Grizzlies forward DeMarre Carroll. He becomes the third Grizzlies player assigned to the Wizards in their NBA Development League history, joining Hamed Haddadi (08-09) and Hasheem Thabeet (09-10). He is expected to make his debut Friday night at home against the Texas Legends. The active roster now stands at 11 players.
Carroll has appeared in four games this season with the Memphis Grizzlies averaging 1.5 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. The 6-8, 225-pound forward was drafted by the Grizzlies in the first round (27th overall) of the 2009 NBA Draft. He averaged 14.9 points and 6.9 rebounds in 70 career games over two seasons at Missouri. As a senior, he helped Missouri claim its first Big 12 Tournament Title in 16 years and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
