Grimm Earns Second Straight Win over Tulsa

FRISCO, TX- The RoughRiders kept the Drillers scoreless, claiming the series opener 4-0 at Dr Pepper Ballpark Wednesday night. Justin Grimm picked up his eighth win of the season, tossing six shutout innings, to extend his scoreless innings streak to 13.

The RoughRiders tacked on their first run in the third inning. A mishandled fly ball by Drillers right fielder Kent Matthes put Jared Prince on first base to begin the inning. Jose Felix followed with a single, before Engel Beltre moved both runners into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt. One batter later, Leury Garcia drove home Prince on a sac-fly in the left field corner to put Frisco up 1-0.

The 'Riders added three more runs in the sixth inning. Drillers' starter Parker Frazier (2-6) walked Jurickson Profar with two outs to begin the 'Riders rally. A double by Mike Olt scored Profar, to make it 2-0. Chris McGuiness and Olt then switched places as McGuiness doubled home Olt, before Alex Buchholz singled home the runner at second to give the 'Riders a four run advantage.

Justin Grimm (8-3) pitched six scoreless innings while 'Riders relievers Wilfredo Boscan and Ross Wolf combined to pitch three scoreless innings to end the game.

'Riders starter Justin Grimm picked up his eighth win of the season. He pitched six innings, allowing six hits and one walk while striking out six. Parker Frazier drew the loss, his sixth of the season. He pitched seven innings, allowed five hits, four runs (three earned) and walked one while striking out four.ridersbaseball.com.
