Grimaldi Returning To Gwinnett
April 14, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that defenseman Joe Grimaldi will be rejoining the team following four games with the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League.
Grimaldi was loaned to Peoria on April 8. While with the Rivermen, Grimaldi played in four games and tallied an assist, his first AHL point in Peoria's 2-5 loss to the San Antonio Rampage.
Peoria was Grimaldi's third AHL team of the season and sixth team overall during the 2007-08 campaign. The Ronkonkoma, NY native started the season with the ECHL's Elmira Jackals and made appearances with the Rochester Americans and Albany Albany River Rats.
Grimaldi was traded from Elmira to the Fresno Falcons on January 22. Gwinnett then acquired Grimaldi from the Falcons for forward Stuart MacRae on February 20.
On the season, Grimadli has tallied 4 goals and 17 assists for 21 points in ECHL action. He also has one assist in seven games in the AHL this season. The 6-foot and 200-pound Grimaldi notched a goal and three assists in 21 games with the Gladiators.
Grimaldi should be available for Gwinnett for their second round playoff series.
