Grand Rapids Griffins News Release

Grand Rapids Griffins (6-9-1-0) vs. Hamilton Bulldogs (6-8-1-1)

TONIGHT 7 p.m. Van Andel Arena

The Griffins hit the midpoint of their season-high five-game homestand tonight when they host Hamilton, in the first of three home games over the next five nights. They'll welcome the Oklahoma City Barons on both Friday and Sunday evening. Going into their third meeting of the season, the Bulldogs have yet to score a goal against Grand Rapids. The Griffins' back-to-back shutouts of Hamilton on Oct. 18 (3-0) and Nov. 11 (8-0) at Copps Coliseum marked the sixth time in franchise history that the Griffins shut out an opponent two meetings in a row. In all previous instances, the Griffins won the third game as well, allowing just one goal in four of those contests. The Griffins have previously accomplished the feat against Hamilton, beating the Bulldogs 1-0 on Feb. 9, 2002 and 2-0 on Feb. 15, 2002, and they most recently did it against the Cleveland Barons, blanking them 4-0 on Jan. 9, 2005 and 5-0 on March 29, 2005.

Tonight is a Winning Wednesday presented by Amway. If the Griffins beat the Bulldogs, all fans will receive a free ticket to the next Wednesday game, Dec. 13 versus Rockford. In addition, the first 200 fans to visit the Amway table in Section A will receive a t-shirt. Fans who were in attendance for the Griffins' win over Lake Erie on Nov. 2 and who did not choose to redeem their ticket for the Nov. 9 matinee game can instead exchange their Nov. 2 stub for a free ticket to tonight's game.

TICKETS: Tickets for tonight's game can be purchased in person at The Zone at Van Andel Arena and all Star Tickets outlets, including Meijer stores, by phone at 222-4000 / 800-585-3737, or online at griffinshockey.com .
