Iowa Barnstormers News Release
DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers return offensive lineman David Griffin to the 2017 roster, Head Coach Dixie Wooten announced today.
Griffin (6-6, 312, Hawaii) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his second season with the team and in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Griffin started in 9 of 16 games for the Barnstormers during his rookie season in 2016. Collegiately, Griffin began his career playing at Mesa Community College where he earned first-team all-conference honors by both the Western State Football League and the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference. Griffin continued his collegiate career at the University of Hawaii where he appeared in five games in 2013. Prior to joining the IFL, Griffin was signed to the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL) where he saw action in one game.
"David is a very athletic and strong offensive lineman," said Coach Wooten. "With a year of experience under his belt, he will do some great things for our football team."
Griffin is excited to return to Des Moines for another season of Indoor Football. "I miss the people, the fans, and everything," said Griffin. "We're going to be a much more dedicated team this year."
Griffin is the second of 40 players who will head into the 2017 Iowa Barnstormers training camp in February.
