WASHINGTON, PA- The Washington Wild Things fell in a close game against the Frontier Greys on Thursday, August 13 at CONSOL Energy Park by a final score of 3-2. Greys starter Colin Feldtman was credited with the win, while Steve Messner was charged with the loss. Nick McBride picked up his fifth save of the season as well.

Leadoff singles by Andrew Heck and Matt Ford set up an RBI double from Sam Mende, giving the Wild Things an early 2-0 lead. Starting pitcher Luke Wilkins made it very difficult for the Frontier batters, striking out three in row to end the second inning and retiring 15 straight. Wilkins carried a perfect game into the top of the sixth inning but dealt a walk to Greys third baseman Zach Tanner. His no-hit bit ended one inning later on a Julio Rodriguez base hit. Wilkins finished the night allowing one run, three walks and seven strikeouts.

The Greys began their comeback in the top of the eighth inning with runners reaching base on a single, error and hit batsman. RBI singles from Julio Rodriguez and Scott Carcaise knotted the game at 2-2. Designated hitter Dillon Haupt completed the comeback with an RBI single of his own to give the Greys a 3-2 final score victory.
