Greenville Drive News Release
Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive suffered a tough 10-6 to the Hickory Crawdads.
The first two innings saw no runs until the Crawdads put up a run in the third inning off a sacrifice fly from Evan Carter.
The Drive then answered in the fifth inning with a trip around the bases for Matthew Lugo, who also scored Tyler McDonough.
Hickory leveled the game in the bottom of the fifth when a wild pitch sent Aaron Zavala and took the lead thanks to a Cody Freeman RBI.
Greenville's Jaxx Groshans hit one out of the park to tie the game up, but the next frame proved successful for the Crawdads who put six runs on the board. The scoring rally started with Chris Seise finding the dish and ended with him striking out.
The Drive attempted to chip away at Hickory's lead with a Matthew Lugo homer and Alex Binelas scoring off the bat Brandon Howlett. Hickory then added one more to their efforts in the bottom of the seventh.
Greenville gave one last effort when Nick Decker scored on a sacrifice fly.
The Drive will continue the series tomorrow at 7:00 PM.
