
BlueClaws, IronBirds Split Tuesday Pair

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - The BlueClaws and IronBirds split a pair from ShoreTown Ballpark on Tuesday. JErsey Shore took the opener 6-4, the conclusion of a game suspended in Aberdeen on May 1st. Aberdeen to the nightcap 4-0.
Aberdeen (39-19) improved to 9-1 against the BlueClaws (23-35) so far this year.
Game One
The BlueClaws rallied to win the opener 6-4. Trailing 3-1 in the seventh, Ethan Wilson tied the game with a two-run single before DJ Stewart's RBI single to give the BlueClaws the lead in the eighth inning.
This game started in Aberdeen on May 1st, when Matt Russell gave up two runs in three innings. Russell stayed in the game, and pitched five more innings to earn his second win of the season. All told, Russell threw eight innings, 129 pitches, and struck out 12, all the most in a game by the BlueClaws this year.
Baron Radcliff had two hits and two walks, all in the portion of the game played today. Johan Rojas had three hits in the game, two on Tuesday.
Aidan Anderson gave up one run in the ninth inning but earned his fifth save. All five of Anderson's saves have come since June 3rd.
Game Two
Aberdeen scored three times in the first inning off Kyle Glogoski. Collin Burns opened the scoring with a solo home run, his first as a pro. TT Bowens and Connor Paavolony added RBI singles in the inning for the IronBirds.
That was more than enough for Carlos Tavera (3-2) who struck out 10 over five scoreless innings. The BluEClaws had the bases loaded and one out in the fourth but Tavera struck out Casey Martin and Baron Radcliff to end the inning.
Andrew Schultz had a scoreless inning, striking out the side, for the BlueClaws in the loss.
The teams continue their series on Wednesday night. RHP Griff McGarry is set to start for Jersey Shore.
