OKC Energy FC News Release

Energy FC drew 0-0 LA Galaxy II Saturday night at Taft Stadium. The Greens failed to score for the first time all season, and Cody Laurendi's late game heroics see both sides split the points. *Link to highlights and photos*

Frank Lopez almost opened up the scoring for Los Dos in the 20th minute. Don Tchilao fed Lopez who created space on his right foot in the box, but Lopez was unable to square his shot on frame as it missed Cody Laurendi's post just wide.

Two minutes later, the Greens almost had a goal of their own. Omar Gordon whipped a cross towards the looming Deshorn Brown at the top of the 6-yard box. Brown was unable to settle the cross, and also pushed his shot wide of the right post.

Je-Vaughn Watson nearly put Oklahoma City ahead in the 58th minute. Alexy Bosetti whipped his free kick towards the mouth of the goal and Watson barely got on the end of it. He popped the ball a little too high however as Eric Lopez was able to push the shot safely over the bar.

In the 70th minute, Brian Iloski almost blasted a volley past Laurendi. Iloski hit his curling volley from 30 yards, but Laurendi was able to slide in and deny the goal in the final moments.

Ten minutes later, Los Dos nearly found the late winner. A dangerous corner found the head of Jose Hernandez. Hernandez directed the ball on frame, but Christian Ibeagha was able to clear the shot off the line to keep the draw in tact.

Laurendi closed the door on LA Galaxy II in the 87th minute with his best save of the night. Hernandez picked out Kai Koreniuk in the box and sent his cross in. Koreniuk's volley looked to seal all three points for Los Dos if not for Laurendi's diving clearance.

Energy FC are back at Taft Stadium Saturday, June 15th to take on San Antonio FC. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m, and ticket information can be found at energyfc.com/june or by calling (405)235-KICK.
