FC Tulsa News Release
TULSA, OK - The Tulsa Roughnecks played host to the Austin Bold FC on Saturday, June 1st at ONEOK Field. The Tulsa Roughnecks were looking to build on their five match unbeaten streak within the USL Championship. The match began with Austin Bold FC dominating possession, but Tulsa Roughnecks absorbed it and found their moments to string together the counterattack. In the 16thminute they perfected the counterattack with a fast movement of attacking play that ended with a cross into the box to Rodrigo Da Costa. Da Costa then played Christhian Altamirano through into the right side of the six-yard box. Altamirano then smashed a volley across the face of the goal and hit the inside of the opposite post to go in, giving the Tulsa Roughnecks the lead to take into the half.
The second half was off to a quick start with Janu Silva capitalizing off a poor back pass from Austin Bold FC in the 48thminute. Silva's first touch him into the box and second touch around the keeper while the third tucked away the goal. Austin Bold FC quickly made a substitution in the 53rdminute to bring on Kris Tyrpak. Tyrpak then went on a tear to score two goals to even the score in the first 15 minutes of being on. Tyrpak then went on to secure the hat trick in stoppage time with a rip from outside the box into the bottom corner left corner to seal the win for Austin Bold FC.
