Augusta GreenJackets News Release

Asheville, NC - It was a banner night for Asheville Tourists left fielder Cory Dickerson, who hit three home runs and tied a South Atlantic League record with ten RBI's as the Augusta GreenJackets dropped their second straight to the Tourists on Friday night by a 13-5 score.

Dickerson's home runs - three-run shots in the third and seventh and a two-run shot in the sixth - were combined with a pair of sacrifice flies to allow the Tourists outfielder to tie a record by another Asheville Tourist - James Barbe, who accomplished the feat on April 22nd 1978.

The GreenJackets got the first lead in the game, getting a run on a double play ball in the first. Asheville answered in the home half of the frame on a run-scoring single by Chandler Laurent that tied the game at one and the first of Dickerson's sacrifice flies. Laurent drove home the other three Tourists runs in the contest that weren't accounted for by Dickerson's red-letter night.

Augusta reclaimed the lead in the second on back-to-back RBI singles by Chris Lofton and Carlos Willoughby to go up 3-2 before the Tourists outscored the GreenJackets over the final seven innings by an 11-2 margin.

The GreenJackets pulled to within two in the sixth when Ryan Lollis's first home run of the year - a two-run shot - cut the Asheville lead to 7-5. The second of Dickerson's three homers brought the lead back to four as the Tourists kept pouring it on, scoring the final six runs of the game to win by eight.

Mike Kickham struggled for the second time in a row on the road trip, chased after just 3.2 innings in his shortest start of the season. Kickham (1-3) allowed seven runs on eight hits and three walks, striking out five.

Asheville starter Albert Campos wasn't as dominant as his teammate Edwar Cabrera was on Thursday night, but he threw five steady innings to get the win. Campos (3-4) allowed five runs - four earned - on nine hits and three walks with four strikeouts.

The GreenJackets will send Gaspar Santiago (1-0, 3.23) to the mound in the road trip finale on Saturday to try and salvage the series split with the Tourists. A win for the GreenJackets also ensures a winning road trip. The Tourists counter on Saturday with Joshua Slaats (1-1, 7.92). First pitch from Asheville will come at 6:05 with pregame coverage beginning at 5:50, airing online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com.

The GreenJackets return home on Sunday June 4th to open a three-game series with the Charleston RiverDogs. First pitch is at 5:35 and gates will open at 4:30 next Sunday.

Single-game and Season Tickets are currently available by calling the GreenJackets front office at 706-922-WINS while further information can be found online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com.
