Augusta GreenJackets News Release

Salisbury, MD - Jeremy Toole fired six shutout innings and Hector Sanchez tripled home a pair in the sixth inning as the Augusta GreenJackets picked up a 3-0 win over the Delmarva Shorebirds on Saturday night - their second straight victory.

Toole (6-5) didn't surrender a hit until the fifth inning, holding the Shorebirds scoreless on just two hits and four walks while striking out a pair. He left the game with two Delmarva runners aboard in the seventh and no outs, but Jose Valdez stranded those runners to keep the shutout intact. Valdez stranded two more in the eighth before handing the reins over to Jose Casilla, who worked a 1-2-3 ninth to earn his 14th save of the season.

All three Augusta runs came with two outs, as the GreenJackets got on the board in the third with a Ryan Cavan single to take a 1-0 lead. Sanchez's two-run triple to right-center went off the outstretched glove of center fielder Trent Mummey, who came inches away from making a sensational catch. Instead, the GreenJackets extended a one-run lead to a three-run advantage. Four of the six Augusta hits went for extra bases in the contest.

Bobby Bundy (4-6) took the loss for the Shorebirds, surrendering three runs on five hits and four walks in 5.2 innings. Bundy struck out six GreenJackets and settled down after walking his four hitters in the first three innings.

The win is Augusta's 12th shutout victory of the season and their third on the current eight-game road trip. Brian Irving (7-6, 4.68) takes the mound for the GreenJackets in the penultimate contest of the 2010 season to face Brent Allar (2-4, 5.09). First pitch from Salisbury, MD will come at 7:05 p.m. with the pregame action beginning at 6:50 p.m. on WRDW AM 1630, www.greenjacketsbaseball.com and www.wrdwam.com .
