GreenJackets Bats Drive Them to Victory

Greenville, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, won their series finale against the Greenville Drive, 9-2 on Thursday night.

After being down 1-0 going into the fourth inning, the GreenJackets bats woke up. Manuel Geraldo hit his seventh home run of the season to give the GreenJackets a 2-1 lead. Gearaldo would go on to knock in two more runs in the game for a total of four RBIs overall.

In the sixth inning, Ryan Kirby also hit his seventh home run of the season to right field. This would give the GreenJackets a 5-1 lead after six innings.

After taking advantage of Drive mistakes in the seventh and eighth innings, the GreenJackets would put up two runs in both innings to give them a total of nine runs for the game.

On the mound, Jason Bahr continued to impress. He went five innings, giving up three hits and one run. He added four strikeouts, which brings his total to 70 for the season. This is second best in the South Atlantic League, only trailing Bruce Zimmermann who has 75 for Rome. In earning his sixth win of the season, Bahr now joins four others in the South Atlantic League for most wins.

The GreenJackets won the series against the Drive 2-1. They are now 9-1 against Greenville this season. Augusta will now head to Lexington for a four game series against the Legends.
