Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL have announced that goaltender Scott Stirling has been named the 2003-04 ITECH Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Year as determined in a vote by ECHL coaches. The announcement came earlier this afternoon from the ECHL offices in Princeton.

Stirling, 26, finished the 2003-04 regular season with a record of 31-13-5, setting the Bullies franchise record for single-season wins and falling one victory short of matching a career-high. The Hull, MA native did set personal and franchise-bests with his 1.91 goals against average and .933% save percentage. Stirling's final goals against average places him second alongside Peoria's Curtis Sanford, and his final save percentage places him third alongside Columbus's Jeff Salajko in ECHL history.

A member of the 2003-04 All-ECHL First Team with teammate Luke Curtin, Stirling becomes the first goaltender in ECHL history to win Goaltender of the Year twice. He previously achieved the honor during his rookie season of 2000-01 with the Trenton Titans.

Stirling is the second Bullies goaltender to be honored this week. Tuesday, Bujar Amidovski was named the ITECH Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week.

The Bullies continue their best-of-five Northern Division Semifinals with Game B against the Peoria Rivermen at 7:05PM Friday at Boardwalk Hall. Atlantic City leads the series 1-0 after Wednesday's 3-2 triumph. For more information or to order tickets, call (609) 348-PUCK.
