
Eklund Finishes 4th in Voting for Golatender of the Year

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots announced today that goalie Brian Eklund finished fourth in the league's voting for Goaltender of the Year voted by the ECHL coaches.
Eklund finished the regular season with a record of 38-17-7 with a 3.01 goals against average and .921 save percentage. He broke ECHL records this season with most saves in a season with 2,194, minutes played with 3,724 and tied an ECHL record with most wins in a season with 38.
Scott Stirling of Atlantic City won the award posting a record of 31-13-5 with a 1.91 goals against average and .933 save percentage. Louisiana's Derek Gustafson finished second in the voting with a record of 28-14 with a 2.09 goals against average and .927 save percentage and Trevor Koenig of San Diego finished third posting a record this season of 27-7-8 with a 2.17 goals against average and .920 save percentage.
The Ice Pilots play Louisiana tonight in Game 2 of the Central Division Semi Final Best of Five Kelly Cup Playoff Series at 7:05 p.m. at the Cajundome. Louisiana leads the series 1 game to none.
The Ice Pilots play Louisiana at home in Game 3 of the Kelly Cup Playoff series on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. Kids can have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny before the game from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Former Ice Pilot Glen Metropolit will drop the ceremonial puck and sign autographs at the game. A jersey auction will take place after the game on the white jerseys. Fans will be able to have the jerseys once the season is over.
The Ice Pilots will also host a pep rally on Friday night with the entire team at Seville Quarter from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Kelly Cup Playoff Strip tickets are available for all potential home games along with group tickets and season tickets for next season by calling 432-7825.
