Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League announced today that forward Ryley Grantham has been returned to Allen from Springfield of the American Hockey League.
Grantham played in six games for the Springfield Falcons of the AHL, netting two points and 19 penalty minutes. Grantham was loaned to Springfield at the start of the season by Allen. Ryley is back on a five game tryout for Allen. He is expected to be in the lineup on Friday night when the Americans host the St. Charles Chill.
"Ryley is a tough body checker and a hard player to play against," said Allen Americans Head Coach and General Manager, Steve Martinson. "We look forward to getting him back in the lineup this weekend."
Grantham played in 40 games last season with Allen, racking up 135 penalty minutes, before being called up to the former Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League. The native of Hanna, ALTA, is in his fifth season of professional hockey.
The Americans open a two-game weekend set against the expansion St Charles Chill on Friday night at Allen Event Center. Tickets for this weekend's games are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com . Call (972) 912-1000 for more information.
