GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The Grand Rapids Gold, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Denver Nuggets, have agreed to trade Amida Brimah to the Santa Cruz Warriors. In exchange, the Santa Cruz Warriors have agreed to trade the returning player rights of guard JaQuori McLaughlin and their second round pick in the 2024 NBA G League draft to the Grand Rapids Gold.

McLaughlin, 6-4, 190, began his collegiate journey at Oregon State, posting averages of 10.5 PPG and 3.3 APG. Notably, he set a freshman record at Oregon State with 58 three-pointers. McLaughlin later transferred to UC Santa Barbara, where he excelled with averages of 16 PPG, 5.2 APG, and 3.5 RPG during his senior year. His efforts contributed to UC Santa Barbara securing the Big West regular season and tournament titles, earning him the titles of Big West Player of the Year and Big West Tournament MVP.

After going undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft, Mclaughlin played for the Golden State Warriors NBA Summer League team and later signed a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks, appearing in four NBA games before being waived. McLaughlin was later acquired in a trade by the Santa Cruz Warriors but was waived after suffering a season-ending quad injury.

In March 2023, McLaughlin signed with the Otago Nuggets for the 2023 New Zealand NBL season.
