Gragnani Reassigned To Rochester

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the Buffalo Sabres have reassigned defenseman/forward Marc-Andre Gragnani to the Amerks.

Gragnani, 20, will rejoin the Amerks after a two-game stint with the Sabres. He skated 6:28 and recorded four penalty minutes in his National Hockey League debut in Buffalo's 4-3 loss to the New York Rangers on February 23rd. A native of Ile Bizard, Quebec, Gragnani has collected 35 points (7+28) in 58 American Hockey League contests with Rochester this season. The 6-foot-2, 192-pound defenseman-turned-forward is currently on an eight-game point streak (3+6) with the Amerks. His 35 points presently ranks him second on the team and seventh among league rookies.

Rochester open its March 2008 schedule this weekend with a trip to the War Memorial at Oncenter on Saturday, March 1st to face rival Syracuse Crunch. The 7:30 p.m. divisional contest is the eighth of 12 scheduled meetings between the I-90 adversaries and will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 networks. The Amerks fell 3-2 in overtime in their last meeting with the Crunch in Syracuse on February 16th. Rochester is 2-4-1 this season and 78-61-16 all-time against the Columbus Blue Jackets' affiliate.

The weekend continues Sunday, March 2nd, as Rochester plays host to the Iowa Stars. The Amerks, who dropped a 4-2 decision in their last meeting with Iowa on January 21st, aim to settle the score in the second and final game between the two teams this season. The 6:05 p.m. contest can be heard live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 networks and it will also be televised tape delayed on Time Warner SportsNet Channel 26. The Amerks are 4-1-0 all-time against the Stars.

Sunday's contest falls on AAA night. Anyone who is a AAA member can show their membership card to The Blue Cross Arena Box Office and receive 100 End Seating for $10.00 each (Regular $16.00) or 200 End Seating for $10.00 each (Regular $12.00). Sunday is also Supercuts $6.00 Sunday. Kids 12 and under can purchase a $6.00 Sunday ticket in the 100 and 200 end seating areas. Lastly, fans are also invited to head down to The Distillery at 3010 Winton Rd South to enjoy the official postgame party. Fans can show their guest checks from The Distillery at the BCA Box Office for a $3.00 discount off any 100 or 200 premium Amerks ticket (Regular price $21.00).
