Anderson Champions News Release
Anderson, IN. Gov. Mitch Daniels made his first visit to the Flagship Enterprise Center Friday afternoon and met the 25th anniversary class of the Leadership Academy of Madison County. The Leadership Academy was founded in 1981 by Anderson University and the Anderson-Madison County Chamber of Commerce to coordinate both educational and business resources within the local community into an integrated seminar and field study curriculum, and process.
The program's emphasis is to develop a legacy of leadership and business growth, and according to one of its founding members, Ray McCaslin, the program has evolved to make an even greater impact than when the original group was conceived.
By the invitation of former Remy CEO to Lead New Flagship Energy Systems Center, local architect and Anderson Champions team owner Jesse J Wilkerson presented the Governor with a signature ABA ball on behalf of the Anderson Champions and the ABA. Jesse was able to mention to the Governor and guest attendees the teams strides in the community and plans to employ 36-42 people by 2009 in his organization.
"The vision is to continue to build a community based organization," said Wilkerson. The Anderson Champions occupy office space at the Flagship Enterprise. The team is now preparing for the second half of the season. For more information, visit www.andersonchampions.com or www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
