
Gose, McDade Homer in 13-10 Win at Reading

(Reading, PA)-Anthony Gose and Mike McDade each hit a home run and drove in four runs and the Fisher Cats had to hold off a furious rally by Reading for a 13-10 win on Saturday night at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Chad Beck (4-0) picked up the win, working the first 5.2 innings, allowing seven hits and five runs (four earned). He walked one and struck out four. Bobby Korecky picked up his second save with a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout.
The Fisher Cats (22-13) opened the scoring in the top of the first inning. Darin Mastroianni doubled to lead off the game, moved to third on a groundout and scored on a single by Anthony Gose to make it 1-0. Gose would make it 2-0 on consecutive wild pitches, scoring from second on a throw in the dirt by Reading starter Josh Zeid.
The Phillies hit the board in the bottom of the first inning. Michael Spidale (4-for-5, 2B, 3 R)
doubled, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a groundout by Matt Miller (2-for-5, 3 RBI) to cut the lead to 2-1.
New Hampshire added to the lead in the top of the third inning. Mastroianni reached on a fielders choice and Gose hit his first home run of the season to extend the lead to 4-1.
The Fisher Cats batted around in the top of the fifth inning. John Tolisano singled, Mastroianni walked and Adeiny Hechavarria singled to load the bases. Zeid then walked Gose, forcing in a run. Reliever Jordan Ellis walked McDade and Sierra, both with the bases loaded, to give the Fisher Cats a 7-1 lead. Ricardo Nanita singled home two more for a 9-1 lead.
New Hampshire extended the lead to 12-1 in the top of the sixth inning. Hechavarria and Gose walked and McDade clubbed his fourth home run.
Reading (21-15) then began a tremendous comeback. The R-Phils scored nine runs on 13 hits over the next three innings. Matt Rizzotti (2-for-4, 4 RBI) drove in four of the runs, including three with a bases-loaded double in the seventh that cut the lead to 13-8.
After Steven Susdorf (3-for-5) singled in the bottom of the seventh to make it 13-9, Evan Crawford came out of the Fisher Cats bullpen to get the next six outs. Reading did add a run on a bases loaded fielders choice in the 8th to make it 13-10.
With the win, the Fisher Cats remain in first place in the Eastern Division. They have won three of the first four games of the series, which concludes on Sunday afternoon at 1:05pm. The Fisher Cats will start RHP B. J. LaMura (2-2, 2.73) against Reading RHP J. C. Ramirez (4-2, 2.81) Radio coverage begins at 12:45pm with Bob Lipman on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network.
