Amarillo, TX 12/20/07 - The Amarillo Gorillas will carry their season-long four game winning streak into the weekend, with two games against Southern conference foes. On Friday night, the Gorillas will host the Odessa Jackalopes for the second straight game, coming off a 6-2 victory over the Jacks last Saturday. At the conclusion of Friday's game, the Gorillas will hop on a bus and head south for a Saturday night tilt with the Corpus Christi Rayz. It will be the first of two meetings between the Gorillas and Rayz this year. Saturday night's away game will be shown at Beef O'Brady's Restaurant (34th and Coulter) as part of the Gorillas 'Home Away From Home' promotion. Gorillas fans can come out to the restaurant to watch the CHL Network feed on the big-screen TV.
Amarillo has won four games in a row, and is now 7-13-3 on the year. Their 17 points currently has them in 4th place in the South West Division, sitting just three points out of a playoff spot. The Gorillas have outscored their opponents 22-13 on their current winning streak, while going 8-27 on the power-play (30%).
Following this weekend's games, Amarillo will be off until Thursday the 27th when they travel to Odessa, then to New Mexico for games on Friday and Saturday night.
