Sundogs Help Bring Christmas to Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arizona

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League welcomed the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arizona to Tim's Toyota Center Thursday afternoon to donate toys to underprivileged children.
The 20 boys and 20 girls were selected by local schools, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arizona and the Prescott Valley Police Department to take part in the event, including a behind-the-scenes tour of Tim's Toyota Center. The tour ended in the Sundogs dressing room where players were waiting with toys and hockey tickets for each child.
"The look on the faces of the children when they stepped into the locker room and saw the players waiting with toys was nothing short of memorable" said Sundogs President Brent Thiessen. "The players really embraced the chance to help make the Holiday season brighter for the kids today. It's tremendous to see professional athletes using their notoriety to do well in the community."
Boys received toy trucks courtesy of McWhite's North American Van Lines while girls received plush Burnie the Sundog dolls. Each child will also be in attendance at Friday night's Sundogs game against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.
"We'd like to thank McWhite's North American Van Lines for their help in making this event possible again this year," added Thiessen.
