
Bucks Shutout In Odessa 6-0: Suffer Worst Loss Of The Season

ODESSA, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League lost to the Odessa Jackalopes 6-0 Thursday in front of 2,350 fans at the Ector County Coleseum. The six-goal loss was the Bucks worst defeat of the season, and drops Laredo to 18-7-2 (38pts).
The Jackalopes took a 1-0 lead at the 6:49 mark of the first period when Nathan Ward scored from the right crease past Bucks goaltender Dustin Traylen. Josh Legge sent the puck in from the left point where Ward was waiting to stuff it in. The goal was the 10th of the season for Ward.
Laredo killed off four Odessa (13-6-6, 32pts) power-play opportunities in the first period, while the Bucks came up empty on two power-play attempts.
The Jackalopes outshot the Bucks in the first period 14-6.
Odessa opened up their lead to 3-0 as they scored two goals in the second period, both by Joceyln Dubord.
Dubord made it 2-0 'Jacks at the 8:56 mark when he scored off of a rebound in front of Traylen. Odessa stretched their lead to 3-0 when Dubord slipped a rebound shot past Traylen, who made the initial save but could not hold on as the puck trickled over the line.
The Bucks outshot the Jackalopes in the second period 10-9.
Odessa put the finishing touches on the game with three third period goals, two of which were empty netters.
Traylen suffered the loss in net stopping 30 of 33 shots he faced, while Odessa goaltender Alexandre Vincent stopped all 25 Bucks shots to record his second shutout of the season.
The Bucks return home Friday and Saturday night to play the Austin Ice Bats at 7:30pm.
