Gorillas prepare for exhibition game on Saturday

AMARILLO, TX – Sports fans in the Texas Panhandle will get their first glimpse at the 2004-2005 Amarillo Gorillas tomorrow (Saturday) night.

The Gorillas host the Lubbock Cotton Kings at 7 p.m. at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center in a Pre-Season game. Both teams are expected to have many of their young players in the line-ups in hopes of working hard to earn a spot on the team.

All seats for the game are $5 and can be picked up at the Gorillas Hockey Office located at 1934 Civic Circle (just off of I-40 and Georgia); Civic Center Box Office; At Panhandle Tickets located at Randy's Music Mart, WT Event Center in Canyon and participating United Supermarkets. Fans can charge by phone at 378-3096 or 242-7825.

The Gorillas officially kick off their 2004-2005 regular season schedule. Next Friday the Gorillas host the Odessa Jackalopes at 7 p.m. and the Lubbock Cotton Kings on Saturday also at 7 p.m.

Taco Villa is sponsoring opening night and schedule magnets will be handed out at the door. The Gorillas will wear special opening night jerseys and an auction will follow in the Ape Escape.

On Saturday, fans are invited to come out and tailgate in the back parking lot on Johnson Street in the afternoon.
