Gorillas Look for Second Win Tonight as they Face the Oilers in Tulsa

The Amarillo Gorillas will try to win their second game of the young 2003-2004 Central Hockey League season when they take on the Tulsa Oilers tonight (Tuesday) at 7 pm at the Tulsa Convention Center Arena.

This is the first meeting between the two teams since the elimination game some seven months ago when the Gorillas eliminated the Tulsa Oilers from CHL playoff contention.

Many of the key faces on the Gorillas and the Oilers have remained. Tulsa has a new coach this year with Bruce Garber and he brings back just five of the players from a year ago but heading the list are goaltender Rod Branch and forward and scoring sensation Todd Marcellus.

Tonight's game can be heard on the Bank of America Amarillo Gorillas Hockey Network through the flagship station Hot 99.7 FM and www.amarillogorillas.com, beginning with Gorillas Game Night at 6:40 p.m. The face off of Amarillo and Tulsa follows at 7 p.m.

The busy week for the Gorillas continues on Friday night when they host the arch rival Lubbock Cotton Kings at 7 p.m. at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center. It is Serve Pro Night and fand can purchase a puck and have a chance to win two tickets to see a future Dallas Stars Game. It is also United Way Shots on Goal Night as the Gorillas will try to pile on the shots on goal to help raise funds for the United Way.
