Goodwin, Dombkiewicz re-sign with Komets

Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets announced Wednesday that they have added 2 players to the 2006-07 roster. Winger Jonathan Goodwin and defenseman Mike Dombkiewicz have re-signed for another season in Fort Wayne.

Goodwin, 24, will be returning for his 3rd season with the Komets. The Weymouth, Massachusetts native has appeared in 144 Komet games since joining Fort Wayne in 2004 scoring 67 goals and 129 points. Goodwin was selected a 2005 UHL All-Star and named Komet Rookie of the Year for 2004-05. Last year the winger led the Komets with 32 goals including 14 power play tallies and registered a 2nd highest +26.

Dombkiewicz, 27, will be entering his 3rd pro year after starting his career in 2004 skating stints in the UHL with Kansas City, Richmond and Missouri while being named to the 2005 UHL All-Rookie Team. The defenseman appeared in games last season with Elmira (27gp, 5g, 17pts) and Kalamazoo (21gp, 3g, 8pts) before being claimed off waivers by the Komets March 24, 2006 and skating 12 games with Fort Wayne posting 8 assists and 9 points.

The addition of Goodwin and Dombkiewicz brings the Komet's pre-season roster to 6 players. Goaltender Kevin St. Pierre, winger David Hukalo and defensemen Guy Dupuis and Kevin Hansen are also on the roster.
