Chicago Hounds Sign McArthur and Brolsma for 2006-2007 Season

Hoffman Estates, Ill. (August 2, 2006) - The Chicago Hounds announced Tuesday the signing of Defensive Player Darryl McArthur and Forward Mike Brolsma.

McArthur (6 feet, 200 pounds) is a native of Oshawa, ONT is entering his 6th year as a professional hockey player. As a member of the Guelph Storm, McArthur played junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League. After college hockey at the University of New Brunswick, McArthur played for the Austin Ice Bats (CHL) and the Houston Aeros (AHL). He also gained international experience playing for the Leipzig (Germany) Ice Lions. McArthur brings depth to the new team.

Forward Mike Brolsma (5-foot-11, 175 pounds) played four years of college hockey at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Last season, Brolsma played in the Cental Hockey League for the Tulsa Oilers and Lubbock Cotton Kings. He will start his second professional season proudly wearing the Chicgo Hounds uniform.

Coach Greg Puhalski is pleased to have Darryl and Mike joining the Hounds. "Both players are excited to be playing in Chicago. Darryl is a solid, experienced defenseman who will provide leadership. Mike is a well rounded player who will have a great year for the Hounds," said Puhalski about the players' signing with the Hounds.

The Sears Centre is an 11,000-seat state of the art multi-purpose family entertainment, sports and cultural center under construction in Hoffman Estates' Prairie Stone Business Park. Located right at I-90 and Route 59, it will host more than 135 events each year, and is projected to attract more than 750,000 annual visitors.
