Goldeyes sweep Sox again after 3-2 extra innings win

WINNIPEG, MB - The Amarillo Sox continued their struggles against the Winnipeg Goldeyes on Thursday afternoon, leading to their second three-game sweep following a 3-2 loss in ten innings at Shaw Park.

Amarillo reliever Andrew Bowman (0-1) got the loss, allowing the winning run to score in the tenth. Winnipeg reliever Chris Kaminski (1-0) got the win, allowing one hit in a scoreless tenth. Jason White went 4-5 for the Sox in the loss.

The Goldeyes struck first in the third inning. Amos Ramon singled to lead off, stole second and went to third on a groundout. Following a walk, Price Kendall attempted a steal of second, allowing Ramon to take home in the impending rundown, giving Winnipeg a 1-0 lead.

Winnipeg extended their lead in the sixth as Chris Roberson singled, went to second after a walk, went to third on an unsuccessful double steal and scored on Yurendell de Caster sacrifice fly for a 2-0 advantage.

The Sox got on the board in the seventh as Chuck Lofgren walked, went to second on a groundout and scored on a White RBI single. Van Pope delivered a two-out solo homerun in the eighth to tie the game at 2-2.

Both bullpens kept the game scoreless through the ninth, allowing extra innings. In the bottom of the tenth, David Narodowski doubled with one out, took third on a wild pitch and scored on another wild pitch to give Winnipeg the 3-2 walkoff victory, their second in a row.

The loss drops the Sox to 0-6 against the Goldeyes, while they are 6-1 against the rest of the league.

With the loss, the Sox fall to 6-7 while the Goldeyes improve to 9-3. Friday, Amarillo will travel to Kansas to take on the Kansas City T-Bones for the opening game of the three-game set at 7:05pm.
