Quebec 9, St. Paul 2

Quebec scored four runs in the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie and would cruise from there to a 9-2 win over the St. Paul Saints. Capitales C Josue Peley had a solid night at the plate going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and a run batted in. 3B Jonathan Malo had a 1-for-3 night with three RBI including a two-run shot in the eighth inning to extend the Quebec lead to 9-2. Capitales starting pitcher Karl Gelinas had a superb outing allowing an unearned run on eight hits with six strikeouts in seven innings pitched. For the Saints in defeat, 3B Tanner Townsend went 2-for-4 with a home run.

Grand Prairie 3, Sioux City 2 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

In the first game of a doubleheader, the Grand Prairie AirHogs went out to a 3-0 lead after three innings and would hold off a late rally by the Sioux City Explorers to win, 3-2. CF Keanon Simon went 2-for- 4 with two runs scored to lead the AirHogs offense. Grand Prairie SS Yasutsugu Nishimoto also had two hits in the game and 2B Bridger Hunt went 1-for-3 and score the other run. AirHogs starting pitcher Nick DeBarr continued his terrific pitching as he went all seven innings allowing an earned run on six hits with five strikeouts. DeBarr is now 3-0 on the season with an earned run average of only 0.82.

Grand Prairie 6, Sioux City 2 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

Grand Prairie completes the doubleheader and series sweep of the Sioux City Explorers as they win game two, 6-2. The Explorers had a 2-0 lead after three innings of play. The AirHogs would come back with one run in the fifth inning and five more in the sixth for the 6-2 score. Grand Prairie C Kenny Held went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI while DH Andres Rodriguez had two hits, scored a run and drove in one. AirHogs reliever Ronnie Morales picked up the win. Morales tossed three innings allowing an earned run on four hits with three strikeouts. In the loss for Sioux City, leadoff hitter Brandon Newton and 1B Kris Sanchez each had two hits.

Sioux Falls 12, Lincoln 6

The Sioux Falls Pheasants went out to a 6-0 lead after only two innings. The Lincoln Saltdogs would storm back with five big runs in the fourth inning and one more in the fifth to tie the game at 6-6 after 4 ½ innings. The Pheasants then took control as they tallied three runs in the bottom half of the fifth inning to take a 9-6 lead and would go on from there to win, 12-6. Sioux Falls 2B Joe Anthonsen went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI while LF Jared Bolden went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. RF Mark Shorey and 1B Cesar Nicolas each added home runs for the Pheasants. Sioux Falls starting pitcher Matthew Sommo was the winner as he went six innings and gave up all six Lincoln runs on 11 hits. 1B John Alonso went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in the loss for the Saltdogs.
