Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
After going all of March without adding to his roster, Goldeyes manager Rick Forney didn't waste any time getting April underway.
Forney announced today the signing of right-handed starter Mark Holliman. There are now 19 players on the Winnipeg roster, nine of whom are pitchers.
Holliman, 26, arrives following four seasons in organized ball, the last one spent in the Brewers system following three years as Cubs property. In 110 career appearances, he is 29-37 with a 4.26 earned run average, averaging more than 137 innings a season.
Signed by Chicago as a junior out of Ole Miss, he made headlines in 2007 by tossing a seven-inning no-hitter for Tennessee in a 3-0 win over Huntsville. He added a two-run home run, earning the milb.com Double A Single-Game Performance of the Year.
Training camp opens May 4 at Canwest Park.
