Goldeyes Announce Interleague and Exhibition Slate

November 28, 2012 - American Association (AA) - Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release

WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Goldeyes have learned which teams from the Can-Am League they will face during the 2013 season.

Winnipeg is set to play five interleague series against Can-Am League opponents this summer, including two at Shaw Park against Canadian foes. The Goldeyes will host the Québec Capitals from June 14-16, while the expansion Trois-Riviéres Aigles will visit Winnipeg from July 26-29.

In between the two home series, the Goldeyes will travel east for a 10-game road trip against Can-Am League teams. Winnipeg will play Québec from July 11-14, Trois-Riviéres from July 15-17 and the Rockland Boulders from July 18-20.

Interleague play between the American Association and Can-Am League started last season. The Goldeyes hosted Québec in the team's only interleague series in 2012.

"It was a nice change to once again play a Canadian team last summer and we look forward to two more all-Canadian series in Winnipeg this summer," Goldeyes GM Andrew Collier said.

Winnipeg's schedule, which was released last month, has the Goldeyes playing 14 different teams overall and 11 at Shaw Park.

In addition to the interleague schedule, the Goldeyes have announced their exhibition schedule, which includes seven games. Winnipeg will host the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at Shaw Park on May 6-7 and the University of Winnipeg Wesmen on May 10. The Goldeyes will then travel to Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo for games on May 11 and 12 before heading to Kansas City to face the T-Bones on May 14 and the Wingnuts in Wichita on May 15.

The Goldeyes are scheduled to begin training camp on May 4 at Shaw Park.
