Goldeyes Activate Asanovich
August 28, 2009 - Northern League (NL)
Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
Josh Asanovich is ready to go.
Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today the all-star second baseman will be in the starting line-up tonight when Winnipeg opens a four-game set with Schaumburg. Asanovich had been on the shelf since August 17 after suffering a knee injury against Fargo-Moorhead.
To make room on the roster for Asanovich, reliever Matt Davis was placed on the Disabled List. The move leaves the Goldeyes with a full complement of 22 players, nine of whom are pitchers.
Following this series with the Flyers, Winnipeg heads for the playoffs, which begin next Wednesday. Who the Goldeyes play and where they play them is unknown, but will be determined over the next four games.
Great seats for all Goldeyes games start at just $5 and are available at all Ticketmaster locations, including the ballpark box office, by calling 780-3333 or visiting ticketmaster.ca.
