Gold Win against Knicks, 127-108, to Kick off Regular Season

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The Grand Rapids Gold (1-0) earned their first win of the regular season against the Westchester Knicks (0-1), despite the Knicks making a quick comeback after a 27-point deficit. The Gold's ability to connect their shots, shooting 54.3% (44-81) from the field and 92.9% (13-14) from the charity stripe, was a huge advantage to the home team's win.

The Gold had incredible headlining performances across the roster tonight. Sharpshooter Matt Ryan hustled up a game-high 32 points to go along with 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals, on 55% (11-20) shooting from the field. 7-year NBA veteran Kenneth Faried made his debut with the NBA G League tonight, racking up one of three double-doubles for the home team, with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Trevon Duval had another solid double-double, adding 19 points, 11 assists, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals to Grand Rapids' stat line with 63.6% (7-11) shooting from the field. Quade Green contributed another 18 points and 6 assists on his debut with the Gold, while big man Giorgi Bezhanishvili put up an impressive double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Marcus Burk added 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.

The Knicks were led by Tyler Hall, with 31 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Knicks two-way player Luka Samanic followed up with 26 points to go along with 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. Other Knicks players in double digits were Jordan Allen (15 pts, 8 rebs, 3 assists), V.J. King (14 pts, 9 rebs, 3 assists) and Dewan Hernandez (11 pts, 5 rebs).
