
GOJHL Rookie of the Year Harmer Joins Spirit

Saginaw, Mich. - The Saginaw Spirit have recalled center Carson Harmer from the Stratford Warriors of the GOJHL, it was announced by Spirit GM Dave Drinkill on Sunday afternoon. Harmer joins the Spirit after a run in the Sutherland Cup Playoffs that saw 18 points (5G, 13A) in 15 games.
From St. Mary's, Ontario, Harmer was Saginaw's 44th overall pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. This year in Stratford, he led his team in scoring as a rookie (28G-37A-65P) in 46 games played. He led the GOJHL in rookie scoring and was awarded with the RJ Noble Memorial Award as Rookie of the Year.
The left-shot center was also awarded the Unique Cup as the Midwestern Conference's regular season scoring champion. He becomes the first player to win the Unique Cup and RJ Noble Memorial Award in the same season.
Harmer was selected to the Midwestern Conference All-Rookie team, as well as named GOJHL Rookie of the Month in December and February. His six game-winning goals became a Stratford franchise record, and 17 of his 46 games were multi-goal performances.
The Spirit head North to Sault Ste. Marie for Game 3 against the Greyhounds with Harmer in tow.
