Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League signed goaltender Jason Wolfe to a contract, head coach Doug Sauter announced today.

Wolfe, a 6-5, 235-pounder from College Park, Maryland, skated last season with the Manchester Phoenix of the Elite Ice Hockey League in England. With the Phoenix, he finished the season with a 25-24-9 record, 3.20 goals against average and .913 saves percentage. Along with his 25 wins, he posted career highs in games played (58) and minutes played (3,359).

The seventh-year pro's best season came during the 2002-03 season with the Adirondack IceHawks of the United Hockey League. He secured a 25-13-4 record, 2.94 goals against average and .906 saves percentage. For his career, he owns a 91-89-19 record, 3.20 goals against average and .908 saves percentage.

"Jason has the potential to be a top tier goaltender in our league," said Sauter. "After playing a season overseas, he has decided to return to North America and play for the Blazers. He is a large goaltender, but possess quickness to go along with his size. Coach Dashney and I checked the references of Jason and we believe he will be an excellent addition to our hockey club. We wish him the best of luck in the immediate future as he and his wife are expecting their first child in late September."

"I am really looking forward to coming out to Oklahoma and playing for a team that has such a great reputation in the hockey world," said Wolfe "I am very excited about playing in front of such a great fans every night and hope to work to exceed everyone's expectations.

"Oklahoma City is regarded as one of the best places to play throughout all of the minor leagues and after deciding to stay in the states this season in order to have my daughter in my hometown I am really thankful to find such a great place to play. I have had good conversations with both Coach Sauter and Coach Dashney about their team philosophy along with the type of team that they were assembling which proved to me that this was the team for me. I can't wait to get out on the ice with my new teammates, win some hockey games and have a team that Oklahoma can be proud of."

The addition of Jason Wolfe bring the number of players officially signed by the Blazers for the 07-08 season to seven. He joins forwards Marty Standish, Garrett Prosofsky, Graham Dearle and Dallas Flaman and blueliners Mike Burgoyne and Kevin Wilson.

Full season ticket packages are available for as little as $51 per month. Benefits include access to the York Icehouse Season Ticket Holder Lounge, tickets to select Wichita and Tulsa road games and access to prime parking at a discounted rate.
