Mississippi RiverKings News Release

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- Mississippi RiverKings fans will have a new position on the radio dial to hear their favorite hockey club this season. The RiverKings announced today that the team has partnered with KWAM (AM 990) to be the radio home of the RiverKings for the 2007-2008 season. The station will broadcast the team's two exhibition games, all 64 regular season games and any playoff games this upcoming season.

"The RiverKings are excited about the Big 990 serving as our flagship radio station this upcoming season," RiverKings Director of Broadcasting Jim Erickson said. "With KWAM's new ownership and management, this is a chance for us to be the primary local sports team on an up and coming station in the Memphis market. The staff has been great to work with and we look forward to working with them all season long."

Erickson will be entering his fourth season as the radio voice of RiverKings hockey.

"The RiverKings will be a priority in the programming of KWAM," President/General Manager of Legacy Media Memphis, LLC Chip Miller said. "Every game will be heard live on KWAM with no exceptions. We are owned locally and feel that it is important to serve the community with local involvement. Our new relationship with the RiverKings is a great platform for The Big 990 to start this new community commitment."

The first games that will air on KWAM will be the RiverKings' two exhibition games versus the Florida Everblades of ECHL in Florida on October 11 and 12. The regular season broadcasts will commence with the season opener on Friday, October 19 when the RiverKings host Bossier-Shreveport at the DeSoto Civic Center.

KWAM will also be the home of "RiverKings Replay" the newly renamed hour-long radio show dedicated to RiverKings hockey. Like last season, the show will originate live from Beef O' Brady's in Southaven from 6 pm to 7 pm. The difference from last season is that the show will air on Mondays instead of Tuesdays to avoid numerous conflicts with Tuesday games this season. The scheduled dates for "RiverKings Replay" on KWAM will be released at a later date.

The games and radio show will also be available via audio streaming at KWAM's website, www.kwam990.com.

KWAM was purchased by Legacy Media late last year. Prior to that, the station was owned by Concord Media Group and was operated by Clear Channel Communications. The "Big 990" features national broadcast programming shows during the week such as Dr. Laura, Glenn Beck, and Bill O'Reilly. The station is also a member of the Atlanta Braves and Indianapolis Colts radio networks.
