
Goalkeeper Callum Irving Signs with Pacific FC

Victoria, BC - Pacific Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Callum Irving for the 2020 Canadian Premier League season.
"Callum has been an excellent technical keeper in the United Soccer League for many years," said Pa-Modou Kah, Head Coach, Pacific FC. "We are pleased to welcome him to the Pacific family. He is a great addition to the team."
Irving, 26, born in Vancouver, is a product of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency of MLS and the University of Kentucky Wildcats of the NCAA. He joins Pacific FC with 79 professional appearances featuring for the Rio Grande Valley Toros of the USL Championship and most recently for former USL Championship side Ottawa Fury.
"Callum brings loads of professional experience, solidifies our defensive needs, and will create strong competition in the goalkeeper position," said Rob Friend, CEO, Pacific FC. "We are proud to have been able to secure such a strong Canadian goalkeeper."
The 6'1" goalkeeper played for four years at the University of Kentucky where he was a two-time NSCAA All-American and two-time Conference USA Player of the Year. In 2017, the 'keeper set a record upon joining Ottawa by playing every minute in 36 matches (3,240 minutes). Irving has one cap for Canada's Men's senior national team in a 4-2 win over Bermuda in 2017.
Irving will join head coach Pa-Modou Kah's squad for the pre-season come March 1. The addition of Irving brings Pacific FC's roster to 15 leading up to the 2020 season.
