
Goalie Beckford-Tseu assigned to Blades

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today that goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu has been assigned to the team by the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
Beckford-Tseu (pronounced: BECK-ford - SUE) joins the Blades after seeing action in 22 games with the Americans where he compiled a record of 3-14-1 with a 3.94 goals against average and an .868 save percentage. The 24-year-old, who made his National Hockey League debut last season after playing in one game with the St. Louis Blues, is expected to be in uniform with the Everblades for tonight's game at Charlotte.
In addition to making his NHL debut last season the Toronto, Ontario native saw action in both the ECHL and AHL with the Alaska Aces and the Peoria Rivermen. Beckford-Tseu began the 2007-08 season with the Aces where he played in 16 games compiling a 12-4-0 record with a 2.34 GAA before getting called up to Peoria where he saw action in 34 games going 15-14-2 with a 2.63 GAA.
The former 5th round draft pick of the Blues in 2003 found his way to the professional ranks in 2004-05 where he skated in 30 total games with Peoria, then of the ECHL, and Worcester of the AHL. During his five-year career Beckford-Tseu has played in 174 games amassing a record of 82-61-13.
Prior to turning pro the 6-foot-3, 201-pound net-minder spent three seasons at the junior level in the Ontario Hockey League with the Guelph Storm, Oshawa Generals and Kingston Frontenacs. In 115 career OHL games Beckford-Tseu was 46-53-6.

The Everblades return to action tonight when they take on the Charlotte Checkers at 7:00 p.m. from Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, NC. The Everblades' next home game is Wednesday, February 25 when they host the Johnstown Chiefs at 7:30 p.m.
