
All-Star Jersey Auction To Benefit Players Health, Welfare Underway

ST. CATHARINES, Ontario - The Professional Hockey Players' Association
announced that The MeiGray
Group is auctioning a complete set of jerseys worn by players during
the second period of the 2009 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Guardian
Wearâ¢.
The proceeds of the auction will benefit the PHPA/ECHL Health and Welfare
Trust fund which provides insurance benefits to players and their families.
The auction is being held at MeiGray.at.Truition.Com and will
conclude at 9 p.m. ET on Mar. 4.
"This jersey auction is a unique opportunity for fans and collectors to
obtain a one-of-a-kind piece of memorabilia while creating a valuable
benefit for ECHL players and their families," said PHPA Executive Director
Larry
Landon.
Since its inception in 1967, the PHPA has continued to serve as an advocate
of player interests. The PHPA is the certified U.S. National Labor
Relations Board collective bargaining representative for over 1,600 players
on 66 teams in the American Hockey League, ECHL, and Central Hockey League.
