Capital City Go-Go News Release
WASHINGTON, DC - The Capital City Go-Go, the Washington Wizards' NBA G League affiliate, completed a trade with the Wisconsin Herd today, acquiring the returning player rights to Shannon Bogues in exchange for the returning player rights to DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell and Capital City's second round pick in the 2022 NBA G League Draft. The trade is not subject to a physical.
Bogues, a 6-3, 195 pound guard originally out of Stephen F. Austin, played in 41 games with the Herd during the 2019-20 season, averaging 10.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He scored a season-high 25 points in just 18 minutes of game time against the Memphis Hustle at the 2019 NBA G League Showcase in Las Vegas, one of 18 games that season he topped 10 points.
Bogues spent the 2020-21 season in Poland's top league with GTK Gliwice, where he averaged 10.6 points per game. In college, the former Lumberjack was twice voted to the All-Southland Conference second team, while leading the conference in scoring during his senior season in 2018-19.
