Tonight: The Gnats play game two of a four-game series with the Rome Braves at State Mutual Stadium, in Rome, GA. The Gnats enter play today two games behind the Augusta GreenJackets for first place in the SAL Southern Division.

Last Night: The Braves shut out the Gnats behind eight strong innings from one of Atlanta's top pitching prospects, Arodys Vizcaino. Vizcaino gave up just four hits, did not walk a batter, and struck out seven. Brandon Moore was excellent for Savannah as well. Moore gave up just one run, in the first inning on a double-steal in his seven innings. He struck out 10 Braves and did not issue a walk.

Now Pitching: Jimmy Fuller will make his tenth start as a Gnat. Fuller is eighth in the SAL with a 1.91 ERA and fourth in strikeouts (57). The Gnats are 7-2 when Fuller starts and have supported him with 4.7 runs per game. Fuller held the Kannapolis Intimidators to one run on two hits with eight strikeouts in six innings in his last start. He was not involved in the decision in a game Savannah won 3-2 in 13 innings. Fuller spent all of 2009 with the Brooklyn Cyclones where he was a NYP League All-Star in a season in which he was 3-6 with a 2.86 ERA in 12 games, 11 of which were starts. Fuller struck out 67 batters and walked 15 for a sterling K/BB ratio of 4.67. Fuller was a DII All-American in 2008 at Southern Connecticut State University where he led DII in strikeouts with 145, averaging 13 whiffs per nine innings. He was 9-3 with a 1.39 ERA and put together a streak of 59 scoreless innings.

Vs. Rome: The Gnats are 7-2 against Rome this year, 4-0 at home and 3-2 in Rome. The two teams are scheduled for 23 games this season. The Gnats and Braves split the season series 11-11 last year and the Gnats are 36-45 against Rome as a Mets affiliate.

Top Arms: Savannah's pitching staff leads the SAL in ERA (2.47), WHIP (1.13) and strikeouts (459). The Gnats have yielded the fewest runs (161), despite throwing the most innings (467.1).

Road Data: After going 6-2 on the road in April, the Gnats are now 6-11 on the road in May.

Four for Rivera: Luis Rivera has hit safely in each of his last four games, over which time he is 6-for-14 (.429). Rivera played in just 12 of the Gnats first 45 games but has played in each of the Gnats' last four. He's started at first base in each of the last three and figures to see more playing time at the position with Alex Gregory, who had been playing first everyday, recently transferred to the Brooklyn roster.

For Three! The Gnats lead the league with 22 triples, but the team is third from the bottom with 17 home runs.

May-Day: After going 15-8 in April, the Gnats are 13-13 in May. The team has scored 4.88 runs per game (101 R/25 G). In April, Savannah hit .257/.331/.377 and scored 5.13 runs per game (118 R/23).
