Glens Falls Dragons News Release
Glens Falls, N.Y-The Glens Dragons have announced that they have parted ways with Head Coach Johnston Hobbs. The announcement was made by owner/general manager Ben Bernard prior to Tuesday night's scheduled game with the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs. Assistant Coach Steven "Sunny" Sungael has also left the team.
Hobbs took over at the helm of the Glens Falls Golden Eagles in August of 2013 after former coach John Mayotte retired. He had been an assistant to Mayotte during the 2013 season. Hobbs guided the 2014 squad to a record of 18-25. This season Bernard purchased the team and rebranded the squad as the Glens Falls Dragons. Coming into Tuesday evening's game the Dragons sported a record of 20-20, currently good for third place in the PGCBL East division and were clinging to the final playoff spot.
Pitching Coach Colter Bostick has taken head coach. Former New York Mets All-Star pitcher Jon Matlack is also still on the staff.
