Glens Falls Dragons News Release

Glens Falls, N.Y - The Glens Falls Dragons hosted the Oneonta Outlaws at East Field last night looking to win their first game after the PGCBL All-Star break. Oneonta had other plans however as they got out to a 6-0 lead and cruised to a 10-4 win.

Oneonta jumped to an early 2-0 lead against Glens Falls starter Julien Arcos (LIU-Post). The Outlaws used a pair of walks by Arcos and a single by Nick Amory (Marist) to lead the bases. Minjae Hong (Arizona Western) then smacked a two RBI single to give Oneonta a 2-0 lead.

Oneonta increased the lead to 3-0 in the fourth when Derek Orndorff (Penn State) took Arcos downtown for his fourth home run of the season. Hong added an RBI single and Noah Cabrera (Towson) and Cassius Young (Georgia College) then both hit sacrifice flies to score two more as the Outlaws stretched their lead to 6-0.

Glens Falls got on the scoreboard against Oneonta starter Logan Moody (Georgia) in the bottom of the fifth. Josh Arndt (Cornell) picked up and RBI with a single to make it 6-1, and Danny Ryan (Fairfield) came home when Outlaw's catcher Amory threw to second to attempt to nab a runner allowing him to scamper home.

The Outlaws came right back with a three spot in the sixth on the strength of doubles by Amory, Young and Cabrera, with Young and Cabrera picking up the RBIs to extend the margin to 9-2.

Glens Falls got a pair of runs back in the bottom of the eighth when Phoenix Hernandez (Southern New Hampshire) blasted a two-run homer, his fourth of the season, to cut the deficit 9-4.

Oneonta tacked on an insurance run in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Cabrera to make it 10-4.

Moody (3-1) went five innings to earn the win for the Outlaws. He gave up five hits and two runs, both earned, with five Ks and a pair of walks.

Arcos (1-4) took the loss for Glens Falls.

Amory and Hong had three hits each for the Outlaws, while Young, and Kyle Ruedisili (Washington and Lee) had two hits apiece. Cabrera had five RBIs for the Outlaws while Young drove in three runs.
