
Gladiators Veteran Brown Returns for Third Season

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have signed left wing Cam Brown for the 2005-06 season.
Brown returns to the Gladiators for his third season with Gwinnett and his 15th professional season. Last year with the Gladiators, Brown appeared in 68 games posting 14 goals and 19 assists for 33 points.
"I'm excited about the upcoming season," said Brown, "Jeff's (Pyle) preparation is second to none and I'm looking forward to the challenges of working with the young kids coming in and helping the team improve on last year."
The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native set a new league record for games played appearing in his 679th ECHL game on January 1, 2005 at Augusta and enters this season having played in 718 ECHL games. Brown also surpassed the ECHL record for most career penalty minutes accumulating 88 last year for an ECHL record total of 2,324 entering this season.
During the 1990-91 season, Brown appeared in one NHL game with the Vancouver Canucks registering 7 penalty minutes. Brown began his professional career with the Milwaukee Admirals of the IHL that same season finishing the year with 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points in 74 games. From 1992-95, he appeared in 15 AHL games with three different teams.
The Gladiators team captain spent a majority of his career with the Baton Rouge Kingfish racking up 103 goals, 158 assists for 261 points in 393 games. Following his sixth playing season in Baton Rouge, Brown coached the Kingfish for one year, the 2002-03 season, before joining Gwinnett for the Gladiators inaugural campaign during the 2003-04 season.
The Gwinnett Gladiators open the 2005-06 ECHL season at the Arena at Gwinnett Center hosting the Charlotte Checkers on October 21st. The Gladiators play all 36 home games at the Arena at Gwinnett Center located on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth and are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers.
