Las Vegas, February 7, 2007- Las Vegas Gladiators yesterday finished day three of their 21 day training camp and thing are looking better each day. The Gladiators have seen strides in every position that was both expected and unexpected.
Wide Receivers
Head Coach Danton Barto and Wide Receivers Coach Eddie Brown, break down the stand out receivers in camp this far.
"I thought that Kevin Prentiss really stood out. He had a lot of nice catches. I look forward to see the whole group grow as a unit" said Head Coach Danton Barto.
Wide Receivers Coach Eddie Brown was impressed with Reggie Harrell and Joe Douglass. Brown had this to say, "Reggie Harrell truly picked it up in practice yesterday and I really feel everyone has stepped up to the plate. Veteran WR Joe Douglass, who we all know has talent, really made some big plays yesterday".
Defensive Backs
Coach Barto is very impressed with the level of skill amongst the Defensive Backs. DJ Johnson had a stand out practice yesterday and has really impressed him since the beginning.
"DJ Johnson has looked the part all of camp so far" said Coach Barto. "He adapted very well already to the middle safety position. I get excited when I watch DJ on film everyday".
Overall
"We are getting better and better as a team everyday. This group is physical and very hard working" said Coach Barto. "We have a long way to go, but I like the way we are progressing as a team".
Training Camp is open to the public. The field is located outside the Orleans Arena. The training camp schedule from today until February 17th is:
1st Practice
9:30am-11:30am
2nd Practice
2:45pm-4:45pm
The Gladiators will kickoff their 5th season on the road March 4th against the Austin Wranglers at 1pm PT. Season tickets for the 2007 Las Vegas Gladiators home schedule are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the Las Vegas Gladiators office at 702-731-4977.
